Hey, My name is Ryleigh and i am running my first Half Marathon in order to raise money for two charities very close to my heart.

The first charity is the Duchane Muscle dystrophy Charity, an awful disease that primarily affects young boys, causing progressive muscle weakness and degeneration, a disease that took the life of my mums younger brother, Glen, at just 11 years old. As well as this, it has also affected my late Grandmother, and my beautiful Mum, potentially affecting both myself and my sister also. Any chance my family has to raise donations to this wonderful charity, they take the opportunity to do so, and so i only feel it right to do the same.

The second charity i am raising money for is the wonderful Haverhill 1st Girls Brigade, who are part of the wider company, Girls Brigade England and Wales. I have been apart of the company for about 14 years, and i have learnt love, skills, and friendship during my time there. I have become a young leader, and carried on my learning with teaching our young explorer group, which was incredibly fun! The leaders Ruth and Jane (who has now since retired) have put a lot of effort into building our company, and i would like to have the opportunity to give back to them as i leave for university in September.

There isn’t two more greater charities that i would like to raise money for, particularly ensuring in something that is going to prove a big challenge for me mentally and physically. Please donate to these wonderful cause, as it will mean so much to so many.

The money raised will be split between both charities equally.
