Help Us Rescue St. William’s Playground (and Our Laundry)

Hi! I’m Theresa, a proud parent at St. William School. I absolutely love our school, our community, and seeing our kids get fresh air and run wild at recess.

You know what I don’t love?

That black, shredded rubber mulch that covers our playground.

If you’ve ever picked black crumbs out of a kid’s hair, socks, or backpack…

If you've ever bought yet another pair of shoes that you know are about to get ruined...

If you’ve ever scrubbed mysterious stains out of clothes that never come clean…

If you’ve smelled the playground on a hot day and wondered, “This can’t be healthy, right?”...

Then you understand.

The Problem: Straight from Mordor

The rubber mulch stains everything — clothes, coats, and shoes (RIP to countless sneakers).

It gets dangerously hot in the sun.

It smells… toxic.

And it’s just not the safest surface for our kids’ growing bodies and brains.

I’ve personally spent countless hours scrubbing clothes, replacing ruined shoes, and tossing out jackets that never stood a chance. I think my washing machine is ready to unionize.

✨ The Dream: A Clean, Safe, Happy Playground

We want to replace the shredded rubber with engineered wood chips — a healthier, safer, and cleaner option for all our kids. This means:

Cleaner clothes and way less laundry

Safer, softer playtime

A healthier environment

Happier kids AND happier parents!

The cost? $7,000.
