The Doziers: Chapter 2
In March 2018, we found out Crystine had cancer, which was thankfully very treatable. The end of her treatment plan came to fruition, and she recovered from those treatments and could finally look and move forward toward the rest of her cancer-free life! Her husband and children were supportive as can be, and the future was bright again!
Then out of nowhere her body started to fail her, with no known cause. After a lot of research and testing, and continual decline in her health it was discovered she'd caught west nile. She went in to the hospital, and lost most of the use of her body.
8 months later she was showing signs of a pretty miraculous recovery (which doctors were amazed by) then, exacerbated by complications some 8 months later everything went backward and her progress simply regressed. She would never recover from that.
This month, after a 2 year battle for her life, Crystine Dozier now finally reached the end of her journey with us here in earth. And now her family needs your help!
She is finally at rest. No longer trapped in a body that doesn't work, one which prevented her for so long from sharing her incredibly friendly smile and outrageous humor with the world around her.
Now her family faces a new challenge.
Instead of worrying about how to keep paying for her hospital bills and wondering if she will come through, Todd is faced with the loss of his wife just 5 days after their 20th wedding anniversary, and their children must learn to live without their mother. They must also deal with all of the costs associated with the funeral home, etc, on top of the previous bills that had been accumulating.
Just as her recovery was starting insurance stopped paying for her necessary care, which Todd had to learn to do and perform them himself, at the care center, every day. Eventually his job made him choose to either continue her daily therapies or go back to work full time. Obviously, he couldn't abandon her to just sit alone, with no help. That was late summer of 2019, and he's remained unemployed since.
Of course, 2020's pandemic came along and made even visitation nearly impossible for a long time, let alone working with her. On October 6, 2020, pneumonia and other complications took hold and Crystine's body gave in and released her from it's 2-year long hold.
We are asking for any support you can spare to try to help this family recover from this immense tragic loss. Anything you can give would be SO appreciated.
