The Downey Family

On the morning of March 7th, 2018, Jackie Downey got the worst phone call she could have imagined from a total stranger... her husband of 24 years, Jim Downey, father of their 2 children, had suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. He was rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center and underwent emergency neurosurgery to relieve pressure from around his brain. The neurosurgeon felt the Apollo system would be the best procedure for Jim's brain injury. After being hospitalized for over a week, he is now at a rehab institute near his home in Ocean County, receiving Physical, Occupational and Speech therapy. It will be a long road for the Downey family to get back on their feet again. Jim , a NJ Certified Real Estate Appraiser was the sole income provider for the family. His wife has health issues, one being an autoimmune disease (Sarcoidosis) and has been unable to work for several years. Even with having insurance, the medical bills are beginning to roll in and already have totaled over $10,000. Unsure how long it will be for Jim to return to his career, the family could really use any assistance possible to get back on their feet..... thank you as we continue to pray for the Downey family
