The Dooder needs your help!! Dooder blew out his knee and needs a TPLO surgery. One night I was in the backyard and heard a yelp. I went out front to see what was going on and Dooder came hobbling down the drive way on three legs. Dooder is a tough guy and didn't say anything when I was palpating and checking his range of motion. I figured maybe he just tweaked something. A week later it wasn't getting better or worse, but he was figuring out how to hobble around pretty good. I tried to get him to his vet, which then became a search for any vet as everyone I called was booked for a month or two. I was advised to go to an urgent care. We went and the doc Dx'd a torn Cranial Cruciate Ligament (it's the doggy ACL). Dooder is on some meds for pain and to keep the inflammation down.
To keep a long story short, getting to a vet and then to a surgical center in LA has proven to be difficult. Since I had plans to go to NV I decided pack up and leave early to try my luck. I called the local vet for a surgical consult and he advised against what he could do and to keep trying for the TPLO. He said it won't be easy to find someone out here that is able to do it and its not a bad idea to wait it out in LA. So I tried calling some places back in LA and they're now saying August. I looked around some more in Vegas and found two vet specialists out here that can perform the TPLO. I contacted one specialist and they're able to work on Dooder in a couple weeks.
Dooder is dearly loved by all his friends and family. He wears a sharp tux and white shoes. He's been a protector of Eli both before and after Eli entered this world and they're like brothers. Dooder is the student of Goon who taught him the way of the dog. How to not give up chasing skunks and to not fear the spray. We're asking for a little help from our friends to get him back on his feet again so he can enjoy life at the park, chasing squirrels, and to be able to run around with Eli when he returns. Any contribution, even a spiritual one is greaty appreciated. Dooder and the Lan clan thank everyone so much!
