The Donard Lucey Foundation

It is with a very heavy heart we are sharing the sad news that our beloved friend, Donard Lucey, passed away Tuesday. As many of you know, Don was an outstanding member of the Chicago Irish Community, and a cornerstone of many organizations including the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), the communities of County of Cork, Ireland and Galena, Illinois, Chicago Stallions Hockey Club, Chicago Elite Volleyball, Blaine Elementary School and  Welles Park Baseball.    He was also a parishioner at St. Andrews and a friend to Welles Park as a business owner of Gideon Welles.

Don was well known for his quick sense of humor, calming presence, a great source of laughter and his kind-hearted nature. His quiet strength and warmth shines through in his children Ciara, Paddy, and Liam. Our hearts are with Kate, the Lucey children and their family during this unimaginably difficult time.  


All funds raised through this page will be available to the Lucey family for their immediate and unforeseen needs, and to allow Ciara, Paddy and Liam to continue participating in the activities and sports they love and to ensure they have the funds needed for their education.
