Rufio y Maricela son los orgullosos padres de dos hijos y esperan la llegada de su tercer hijo en solo dos meses cortos – una hermana pequeña para el hermano mayor Jared y la hermana Getsemani. Recientemente, se enteraron de que a su bebé por nacer se le habia diagnosticado un defecto cardíaco muy raro y potencialmente mortal conocide como Interrupted Aortic Arch with Ventricle Septal Defect. Este defecto ocurre en aproximadamente 2 de cada 100,000 nacidos vivos, y ahora mismo Maricela y Rufino tienen la esperanza de que su pequeña recibirá el milagro de los medicamentos criticos inmediatamente después del nacimiento, ademas de una serie de cirugías que le salvaron la vida en su primer mes para que pueda tener la oportunidad de vivir. Cuando se trata, hay una tasa de exito del 80% al 90%! Tratamiento que ahora es esencial para que el bebé Dominquez viva. Lo que han acumulado en ahorros es suficiente para cubrir el viaje de 350 millas al hospital y el alojamiento durante 2-3 meses durante y después de las cirugías. Pero los costos medicos y los costos imprevistos asociados con este desafio se estiman en alredador de $100,000 más de lo que tienen. Sin este dinero, es incierto que puedan continuar.

Meet the Dominguez family!
Rufino and Maricela are the proud parents of two children, and are expecting the arrival of their third child in just 2 short months - a little sister for older brother Jared and sister Getsemani. At a time that should be filled with excitement and anticipation for the arrival of this new little one, they are instead experiencing a different set of emotions. The traditional hope and excitement has been replaced with anxiety and deep concern.
Recently, they learned that their unborn baby girl has been diagnosed with a very rare life threatening heart defect known as Interrupted Aortic Arch with Ventricle Septal Defect (IAA & VSD(. This defect occurs in about 2 out of every 100,000 live births, and right now Maricela and Rufino are holding onto hope that their little girl will receive the miracle of critical medications immediately after birth along with a series of life saving surgeries in her first month so that she can have a chance at life. When treated, there is an 80-90% success rate! Treatment that is now of the essence if the Dominguez baby is to live. What they have built up in savings is enough to cover the 350 miles travel to the hospital and lodging for 2 - 3 months during and after surgeries. But the medical costs and any unforeseen costs associated with this challenge are estimated at around $100,000 beyond what they currently have. Without this money, it is uncertain that they can proceed.
Maricela is expected to deliver in the middle of March, 2021 and the weight of this situation is compounded by the stress of trying to find means to gain access to treatment. Please consider a financial donation to these loving parents who are suddenly faced with an unimaginable burden to carry.
