The Dolores Jose Memorial Scholarship

The Mineola Athletic Association lost one of our most beloved members Mary "Dolores" Jose. Dolores was the heartbeat of our soccer program for 40 years. And over that time she had one singular mission that "the kiddies of Mineola had the opportunity to play soccer". She dedicated countless hours to ensure that.

Her commitment to soccer went well beyond Mineola. She is a board member of the Long Island Ladies Soccer League, a division chair for the Long Island Junior Soccer League, a certified referee and a 2013 Long Island Junior Soccer League Hall of Fame Inductee.

The Mineola Athletic Association is starting the Dolores Jose Memorial Scholarship so children of the community who don't have the financial means to participate in youth sports can do so. Her family has requested that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the Mineola Athletic Association.

The Mineola Athletic Association Is A Non Profit Organization That Sponsors Youth Athletic Programs In The Village Of Mineola. It Is Adult Supervised On A Volunteer Basis- No Compensation.
