My name is missy and I started Ranchito Rescate 6 years ago. It all began with fostering abandoned puppies who were ill, malnourished & in need of love and care. I was driving down the road a few months after starting to foster/find adoptions, when I saw a staggering form in the road. It turned out to be a dog that was no more than a skeleton. I not only rescued that dog- who is now Leo the Lionheart, but made a commitment that day to help any that I could. And so Ranchito Rescate was born- out of desperate necessity.
I have picked up many dogs off the streets since then and found them furever families that cherish and treasure them. I’m in touch with all of the families with the exception of only a handful. It is the best to wake up to an emailed video or messaged pics of happy healthy carefree dogs living their best lives.
move taken on three fields, almost from the start, where I feed and give out flea/tic meds (nexgard spectra or others depending on supply). I have watched those dogs do their best to fight for survival and have taken many from those fields for adoptions.
I have paid the majority of costs from pocket over the years and appreciate all the donations as well.
my current problem is that money is nonexistent as my husband hasn’t worked since February. We are out of funds having depleted our savings etc and credit cards are maxed.
I know that doing this rescue is my responsibility and no one else’s as it was a choice I made. However I’m in desperate straits and need any help anyone is willing to give.
for info and example purposes: I spend 4000 mxn every 8days for food for the fields. About 30 dogs live there. The number goes up and down depending on how many more are dumped each month, how many have babies despite my efforts to spay and neuter and of course there are those that are hit by cars
I spend roughly 5000mxn monthly on nexgard spectra (flea/tick/parasitic med). There are the mounting bills I have been accumulating at both vets that I use which together are over 30,000mxn. This doesn’t include the supplies, food, meds, ongoing vet care, gas, etc etc for the dogs in foster care.
I’m behind in paying for boarding for several dogs as I no longer have sufficient fosters for the dogs I currently have under my care.
I am upset that I’m not able to take care of all of this on my own however the dogs’ needs are all that matters.
if you could spare a little to help them out,
my heartfelt gratitude is yours!
