Hello, my name is Tiffany, and I am fundraising for my family. As many of you know, my husband, Danny or Daniel, is an alcoholic. This story started about 20 weeks ago, in March of 2022. Danny began to go out more often, visiting all the local watering holes. This was nothing new, as Danny is very social and would enjoy a drink or two with his friends. Over the next few weeks, I noticed he was drinking more heavily and not coming home at night, and when he did come home, he was highly intoxicated. The night of June 15th changed our lives forever. CPD brought Danny home, as he had been in several altercations that day. However, he was only trespassed from certain establishments throughout the Columbia community. Danny was highly intoxicated, and started yelling and arguing with me. Our youngest little one was downstairs with us while this was happening. Our oldest daughter was on the phone and was advised to come get our youngest and remove her from the situation. During this time, there was a scuffle which resulted in our oldest daughter being hurt (bruising on her right thigh). It was then that I called 911 and had Daniel leave for the night. The next morning Danny came back home to get some belongings and was still intoxicated. He was very verbally agressive and actions resulted in myself and our oldest daughter going to file orders of protection. At this time we did not feel safe around him while he was intoxicated, as he had become a very agressive/violent drunk. Orders of protection were granted and contact with Danny was cut off, for a total of 3 weeks. During this time I had no idea what he was doing nor did I care, as he was no longer my problem to deal with, or so I thought.
It was two weeks ago tonight that Danny was in a motorcycle accident resulting in him needing medication attention. It was that night, or next morning that Danny realized that he needed help, and that he could not do it on his own. Thursday, June 30th, Danny checked himself into CenterPointe to detox on his own accord. While inpatient at this facility it was determined that Danny would receive more care/benefit from a longer more intense inpatient facility. We were fortunate enough to find Boonville Valley Hope. Danny checked into Valley Hope on Thursday, July 7th. He will remain there for an entire month. Getting more centered counseling for his alcoholism, bipolar, and anger management. Once he graduates this program he will then do very intensive outpatient therapy 3x/week for 3 hours/day.
At this present time, Danny is not currently employed. When he gets out of rehab, he plans to start doing DoorDash again to allow him the flexibility to attend outpatient rehab. Danny being unemployed has left our family with only one income, which is not enough to sustain our current living situation. Danny has not been in the home for over a month and we will continue to live separately while we work on each other as individuals. At the same time, we seek counseling to help mend our marriage, the relationships with Danny and his two daughters, and as a family unit.
The money raised from this fundraiser will go towards making sure that Danny has a roof over his head when he gets out, making sure our girls have school supplies/clothes for the upcoming school year, making sure the girls have food in their tummies, making sure that our girls also participate in dance, which they both love, making sure our two fur babies are cared for as they both have vet appts they are due for.
I would love to express a huge thank you to everyone who has already helped the girls and me with things from groceries; to food bring brough to our home, to making sure the girls and I have a roof over our head, and making sure we had a cell device to use.
Out of caution of everyone, the money we receive from this fundraiser we be deposited into my bank account and I will disperse the money as needed.
Danny and myself, along with our girls would like to thank everyone for their thought and prayers, kind words and texts over the last few months.
