The Doan Family To Mexico

Hello! We’re the Doan family and we are trying to raise $5000 to help cover some upcoming unexpected expenses. We are a missionary family that has been serving with YWAM (Youth With a Mission) for many years. We are normally stationed in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam but we came to America in March of 2020 to pursue Daniel’s US citizenship and to give birth to our first baby girl, Lydia. We never expected to still be here 1.5 years later!

 

Our plans have changed many times due to COVID and now we find ourselves in a very unique and complicated situation. When we originally applied for Daniel’s expedited citizenship based on our missionary status, we thought it would take 6-9 months. We always knew that one of the requirements for expedited citizenship was that we’d have to leave the US to go back to our missions work abroad within 45 days of him becoming a citizen, but we didn’t know it would take this long, that we’d be pregnant again or that Vietnam’s borders would be closed. Now that he’s about to become a citizen and Cassandra is 8 months pregnant, we are taking a step of faith to move to Mexico. This has come about after a lot of prayer, looking into many different options, and seeking the counsel of our lawyer and many others. However, it also brings with it a lot of expenses we were not expecting to have.

 

One big expense will be giving birth to baby girl #2 without insurance in Mexico. We estimate to pay about $2000 for this. The other major expense will be getting the medication that Daniel takes for his Crohn’s disease. We expect to have to pay at least another $2000 for this to cover 4-6 months of medicine. On top of those 2 huge expenses, we need about $800 for plane tickets and $200 for a double stroller and other baby necessities. Please consider helping us out.
