The Djakovic Family Medical Fund

Greetings all!

My name is Dana and I am writing to you on behalf of my dearest friends (basically family!) who are in a time of immediate need. As we are all very aware, it is extremely challenging for many of us right now to make ends meet. There has been an unfortunate string of events for the Djakovics recently, in which they are looking for help to get through a rather daunting  time.

After a routine knee surgery in May this year, Ryan Djakovic was home resting in hopes to return to work promptly, as his wife cares for their 2 daughters and expecting their 3rd child in Dec/Jan.  In that time, Ryan contracted the superbug MRSA,  (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus), which is a bacterial infection that is very resistant to cure and can be potentially quite harmful. He did not end up returning to work and was on short term medical rest for 2 months. After multiple attempts of antiobotics to treat this infection, it appeared to only be getting worse and then Ryan had to have emergency surgery to clear out the infection. It was during this procedure the doctors found out infection had spread to the bone. He is currently on a pick line of another set of antiobotics which is running into his heart. He will be monitored  until Dec with this pick line, and possibly longer if unsuccessful.  At the beginning of this Month (Nov), Ryan also started getting severe headaches and bleeding in the ear. He was advised by a nurse to rule out onset of an aneurysm, so immediately went to the hospital again for a CT scan and xrays on his lungs., in which the results came back he was in the clear, But still not sure what the diagnoses is. The family has been back and forth from emergency hospital runs numerous times already and continuing.  As to date, he is still having complications with the antiobotics, and will be going  for cat scan to determine whether the infection has spread elsewhere. 

At the same time as this, Ryan and Blayne have a 9yr old daughter that has Type 1 Diabetes and they need to adhere to a complete diabetic diet, (gluten free) and also budget for medical supplies for her, which add up quite quickly as well. 

As Blayne is in the nesting process for setting up for their 3rd bundle to arrive in DecJan, this is a very uncertain and stressful time. 

What does this family need right now?

This means so much to me as this family has been there when I was in great need, at one of my most hopeless times in life.
