Hi, my name is Dan, I am fundraising to construct a floating cold plunge platform as part of my Masters of Architecture work. I am passionate about cold plunging and elevating the experience of cold water exposure. I first started plunging when I moved to Vancouver a few years ago, and it has positively impacted my life in numerous ways, from mental wellness, to physical health, and community.

The project, "The Dipping Point," takes inspiration from many open water European baths and shares some features with the popular floating saunas emerging in the Pacific Northwest. The platform will facilitate cold plunging for groups up to 10 people. A sunken bench will host plungers before they emerge and gently rewarm by a wood stove.

Donations will go towards purchasing materials necessary for building the platform. It will be constructed from sustainable western red cedar. The images show a 1:10 scale model of the design concept.

Once the project is finished in early April please come join us at Tower Beach in Vancouver to plunge together! After starting in Vancouver, the platform will make its way to its permanent home in a quiet lake on one of BC's beautiful coastal islands, where it will serve a small community of water enthusiasts for years to come.
