CocoVaa Chocolatier is getting ready to reopen. Our temporary closing due to COVID19 has been devastating financially and even more so emotionally as we miss our customers who have become extensions of our family over the years. Despite this, we used this pandemic to renew ourselves. We spent this time better organizing our business, testing recipes, donating to healthcare workers and regaining strength. Some of the best innovations happen during times of depression. Small businesses in particular need to devise ways to adjust to changing times. Where there is a will, there is a way.

As a sole operator, one of my biggest challenges has been  trying to figure out ways to manage curbside delivery, while keeping our shop secured and avoiding contact so we can keep the community safe. With the cooperation of our landlord and in partnership with Hellenbrand Glass, we designed a plan for installation of a pass through window to allow us to serve more customers and keep people safe. The system will allow customers to order online and pick up at a window outside without having to enter, since we’ll only be allowing limited entries and those times will be limited.

The cost for installation of the window is $2500. We are seeking $3000 from the community so we can also install a bell as well.
