The Derek Schwarting Memorial Fund

We are heartbroken by the sudden loss of Derek Schwarting on 03/26/2026 after a tragic car accident. Derek was a kind, generous, and genuine person who made a lasting impact on everyone he met. Derek led an impactful life as a brother, son, grandson, friend, football coach, and a pillar of the McFarland community. To know Derek was to love him.

In honor of his life and the values he held close, his family has established The Derek Schwarting Memorial Fund. Contributions will support causes that were meaningful to him and align with his lived values. This includes scholarships, events, and fulfilling the mission of The With Heart Mission, created by Derek in early 2023 to provide scholarships to students pursuing medical education. The raised funds will not be used for medical or funeral bills, but rather to continue Derek's legacy of creating more good in the world through curiosity, compassion, and love.
