True story - when I was a kid I bought my mom goat milk soap for Christmas every year, from Crabtree and Evelyn. She loved it. Fast forward to today. I'm 42 years old, I live in rural Wisconsin with actual dairy goats of my own, and I'm making goat milk soap. With way fewer unpronounceable ingredients than the version I bought as a kid. With five littles of my own those ingredients are suddenly very important to me, and so are other things, like the ethics and stewardship of the people who make it. And I'm interested in what I'm modeling for my kids. We have a small farmstead, we raise a lot of our own food and in general, what we can make on our own - of anything we need - we make. I want my kids to know things can be made simply and conscientiously.
I want them to learn, too, that their skills and assets can be put to the service of their community. That's why I'm growing the Dayspring Farm Soap Company. We have happy goats and we are good at making soap that's healthy for us to use. We think you might like to use it too. We will be selling at local farmer's markets this season, we are building an online store, and we are determined to bring you high quality handmade soap.
But we need your help! A soap business doesn't require a large amount of startup funding, but it requires some, and that's where you come in. Would you like to be part of building our business?
What we will do with your hard-earned money:
1. Buy ingredients to build inventory.
2. Buy larger soap molds to help us build inventory.
3. Buy a sign for our farmer's market booth.
4. Buy product liability insurance.
5. Upgrade our business website (you'll get a link as soon as we launch the gorgeous site you've helped build!).
Many thanks for your generosity!
