The Deeds Family

Hi, my name is Amanda, and I am blessed to be friends with The Deeds Family. On May 28th, the Deeds family welcomed their 1st child, a beautiful baby boy, William Carrick Deeds. He was born nine weeks early after a complicated pregnancy. Shortly after William was born, they discovered that William had Esophageal Atresia/ Tracheoesphageal fistula, or EA/TEF; this means that William's esophagus was not developed properly and did not connect to his stomach. In addition, William also has Tracheobronchomalacia, meaning his airway is weak and collapses when he breathes.

Since birth, William has been living in the NICU with a feeding and breathing tube and has had to endure four surgical procedures, including one to connect his esophagus and stomach.

Doctors have advised Aurora and Chuck that William is a good candidate for a surgery called Posterior Tracheopexy. This surgery was developed at Boston Children's Hospital and can significantly improve William's quality of life.

For William to get this surgery, The Deeds family will need to relocate to Boston for this surgery and William will need to be flown via helicopter.

Along with Medical costs not covered by insurance, Aurora and Chuck will also need to pay for their room and board in Boston, travel expenses and food. So my husband and I kindly seek donations to help this fantastic family get closer to bringing their beautiful son home.

William has endured so much in nearly three months of life but has never faltered. He has fought and held firm through all his surgeries and recoveries. William never shies away from giving his parents a cheeky side glare or gracing them with a loving smile. He loves to hold hands, just like his mom. William is one of the strongest people I've ever known, and he gets that from his parents. I'm constantly in awe of their determination, dedication and optimism. If I could give the world to them, I would. They would never ask anyone to give them a dime, so we asked for them. Whatever you can donate or if you know of places in Boston they could rent, I know the Deeds family would appreciate it.
