The Death of NicKayla Tucker (A Documentary)

My name is NicK King. I am an interdisciplinary artist who is a life-long survivor of DV, financial exploitation and other forms of ab*se.

I initially began this fundraiser with the intention of raising funds to tell the story of how I discovered I was being groomed and exploited by my family and document my journey towards justice. However, I have had time to think about what my intentions behind my longing for justice are and the truth is I just want to recover. Since being displaced, I have faced further loss of stability that has left me vulnerable to multiple forms ab*se that I also need to recover from. I hope to have the capacity to start a new fundraiser for those who wish to support my recovery sometime soon.

The DONT Documentary is still in development, as my story as a formerly trafficked child continues to unfold. I have used my available resources to document this journey while navigating life-altering circumstances. I was conditioned by the first person who abused me, my grandmother, to put my ability to be consumed by the public before my well-being. This is why I initially thought producing this documentary to be more important than my recovery. However, as I continue to be blessed to be surrounded by spiritual family and supportive community, I’m growing to see myself and my health as my first priority.
