Friends of the Lewis Family are organizing the fundraiser on behalf of the Matthew Lewis and his children. All funds are setup to go directly to Dayane's husband, Matthew Lewis.
In 2016, Dayane Lewis was diagnosed with advanced metastatic ovarian cancer. She fought hard, and all the while continued to serve her family and others with such joy and compassion. She volunteered and worked part-time in a leadership role in a cancer support organization, served in her church and was active in the children's school and daily activities. She helped Matt with his business and took time daily to pray and teach the Word of God to her children, as well as share her hope with others. She was a creative artist, played the guitar and loved to worship. Dayane laughed, ALOT, and she made such an impression on all who knew her. She always made time for her friends and extended family. She passed into the arms of her Savior, whom she loved and looked forward to meeting - Jesus - on February 4, 2021 in the early morning hours during her sleep. She had just returned home to her family the previous day after an extended hospitalization. This fund is being gathered in order to help cover the cost of unsettled medical expenses while Dayane battled cancer, as well as provide some long term and short term support for Dayane's husband, Matt and his two children, Bella (16) and Dillon (13).
Matt is the primary source of income for his family and unfortunately Dayane did not have life insurance. The goal of raising $35,000 has been set in order to hopefully cover known medical expense and the remaining amount we would love to raise even more in order to allow Matt and her kids the time and space they need to process this significant and sudden change to their family. They will want to spend time with Dayane's family who are in Brazil at some point in the near future. All donations will go directly to Dayane's husband, Matthew Lewis. Any amount—however large or small—will be a great comfort and, we hope, a blessing to you as much as it will be for this family.
