Hi!
My name is Alli Wilkins. I am a senior in the film department here at VCU and I need your help to make a film!!
I have been writing The Day Before Yesterday for the past year and it is finally time to bring it to life.
Synopsis
The Day Before Yesterday follows Sawyer, a young girl growing up in rural Alabama, who is coping with the loss of her older sister. Family dynamics between her mother and father are confronted, as her mother develops an obsessive disorder, distancing herself from her remaining daughter, while her father lives in a world of denial, choosing to live as if nothing has changed. Strange events unfold and ultimately Sawyer finds a dark way to deal with the loss.
Production/Funds: Pre-production is already underway as I polish the script and begin casting, but production is coming up fast, which means paying the talent, feeding actors and crew, paying location fees, and eventually (and hopefully!) festival submission fees! Any help you can provide is much appreciated.
Everyone's efforts on this film will ultimately be for the support and love of filmmaking and film watching! Films are a special slice of reality and non-reality, where anything can happen and we may be convinced, even just for a second, that these worlds exist and we can live in them. Which I think is real life magic. And why wouldn't you want to be a part of real life magic :)
And if you're still not convinced: all donors will receive a Thank You in the credits of the film.
I am so excited to bring this script to life; and I am so grateful for the ability to make films! I hope you'll follow me on this journey - I will be posting updates of production and post production as they happen.
I hope to see you at the final screening in Spring 2020 and I hope to see your name in the credits!
