The Dave Could Use Your Help.

You wouldn’t know Dave Wesselowski by social media, as

that’s not how he rolls. You may know his as The Wiz or as The Dave (a recently acquired nickname). But, if you’re a musician who’s shared the stage with Dave, then you know what a pleasure it is to play and hang with him and what a solid dude he is all the way around. He has spent about 30 years in Austin, making

bands and singers like myself sound better here in Texas. If you know him off-stage, you know he's also

one of those friends who will be there to lend a hand without hesitation. He's one of my best friends and,

as Guy Clark said, "That's the kind of stuff I like to be around." Now, he could

use your help.

Dave was seeing a specialist for blood pressure issues, and it was determined that he had blockage.

The doctor prescribed to have an angioplasty and stent placement in late May; however, the stent

wouldn't take. Subsequently, they fast-tracked him for heart surgery. In late May, Dave underwent quadruple by-pass surgery. All went well, and I'm happy to say he was discharged from the hospital early last

week and is on the mend.

The angioplasty results came in on 5/27, and he was scheduled for surgery on 5/31. As a result, Dave had

to back out of all his June gigs and will miss at least half his dates in July. Eventually, he will need help with whatever his insurance doesn't cover. Tina Rose and I will be setting up a benefit show in the coming

months. In the meantime, he needs money for rent, utilities, and groceries. I know times are tight, so if you can't afford to throw him a few bucks, please share this online. Let's lend The Wiz a hand!
