The Daughters: A Concept Album by Cat Brindisi

The Daughters, a ghost story, is a concept album combining experimental text, music, dance and art. Originally conceived at Everwood Farmstead, The Daughters is an autobiographical tale about a young female artist who is led on a journey to confront the demons of her past. The Daughters holds a magnifying glass on the disease of alcoholism and the impact of certain paths unled. Cat Brindisi challenges the form of musical theatre by bringing multiple mediums together in a collaged, experimental art piece.

Cat will be performing and making a recording of The Daughters this August in Minneapolis and needs your support! Specific budget and explanation of where your funds will be allocated below:

ALBUM RECORDING:

Music Producer: $1,800 ($75/hour)

Musicians: $4,800 (4 musicians and 3 days of recording time)

Orchestrator: $1,500

PERFORMANCE:

Sound Designer/Artistic Collaborator: $2,000

Director: $1,500

Musicians: $2,000 (5 nights of performing with 4 musicians)

Cat Brindisi is an experimental artist based in New York with Minneapolis home roots. She has performed at The Guthrie Theater (The Tempest, Sunday in the Park With George, The Parchman Hour, South Pacific, The Cocoanuts, Stage Kiss, My Fair Lady, A Christmas Carol); Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, New World Stages (NAMT 2017); Signature Theatre (NYMF 2019); Mixed Blood Theatre (The Chronicles of Kalki, Cloudlands - workshop with Adam Gwon); Chanhassen Dinner Theatres; The Ordway; Theatre LatteDa; and Children’s Theatre Company. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Duluth with a BFA in Musical Theatre and a minor in dance, Cat's passion resides in challenging the musical theatre artform by bringing different elements together to experiment in unique ways of story-telling.
