The Darren Deady Veterans Centre The Big Build
Donation protected
Kingsman Darren Deady, serving as part of Combined Force Nahr-e Saraj, died from his injuries sustained as a result of a gunshot wound in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand Province on the morning of August 23rd 2010.
In Darren's memory, his family set up The Darren Deady Foundation CIC to help and support Veterans and their families.
Darren's mum, Julie, has been housing Veterans in her home for the past 3 years to rehabilitate and support them to find new homes and get the help that they require, however they now need more space than Julie can accommodate.
This year, the Foundation has been awarded an Asset Transfer of the Washacre centre in Westhoughton, to become a Veterans centre with apartments to home Veterans and a community centre.
The building is in need of repairs and to do this we are trying to raise money for the works needed.
The estimated works are around £100k and currently the Foundation has around half of this.
Raising this money will go a long way to help support Veterans in need, these brave men and women gave so much for their country and giving them a safe space is just a small gesture in return of what they sacrificed for us.
Any donations, would be greatly appreciated in supporting the Foundation with their works.
Thank you ❤️
