In 1977, I became the first black female forester in the United States. In the USDA Forest Service today, there are only six of us. I've secured the support of Virginia Senator Tim Kaine to secure data from the USDA Forest Service. I'm raising money to make a feature-length film about my life. We have completed a short introductory film, The Dark White Forest, and now are shopping this premiere to film festivals around the country.
My goal is to produce a feature-length film to prevent the things that happened to me from happening to somebody else. The film will highlight the ongoing racism occurring in our country.
