The Daisy Appeal (on behalf of Andy Harrison)

Sadly Andy Harrison, the Transport Manager at BW Industries has been diagnosed with incurable Lung Cancer. Andy is a well liked and respected colleague and we already miss his presence in our workplace. A group of Employees will be competing in the Hull 10K race on Sunday 11th June 2023 to raise money in his name that will be donated to the Daisy Appeal which Andy has nominated as his preffered charity. Any donations would be gratefully received as the charity aims to develop groundbreaking treatments for this horrible disease.

More information about Hull and East Yorkshire Medical Research Centre: The Daisy Appeal (Hull and East Yorkshire Medical Research Centre) is based at Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham, East Riding Yorkshire. In 2008 we built the Jack Brignall PET-CT scanning centre which scans patients for cancer. In 2021 the charity will complete a radiochemistry and cyclotron unit at the Hospital which will produce the radioactive tracers to improve accuracy and detection rates for cancer, heart disease and dementia for patients living in Hull, East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.
