The Cylas Warrior Gaiski Fund
Donation protected
Hello, please allow me to introduce myself. I am Jennifer, little Cylas Warrior's maternal grandmother. He is just now a little more than half way through his cozy stay in the safety of his momma. In August Sarah, his momma, who is my daughter will need to be relocated to Cincinnati for a fabulous team of Dr's to help him arrive safely. He will need to be brought into our world a little early as he has Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH). It is currently being described as moderate to severe. This little guy has a portion of his liver, stomach, spleen, and also part of the large and small bowel on the wrong side of his diaphragm. The team at Cincinnati feels they can fix his diaphragm after relocating his organs. He will need a surgery within the first few weeks of birth depending upon his strength after birth. There will be a long recovery time as his lungs are not getting the space that they need to grow. Little Cylas’ heart and brain are looking absolutely perfect. Sarah has seen one physician locally who specializes in high-risk pregnancies and he has said Cylas won’t make it if delivered in Ft. Wayne and has even mentioned the option of terminating the pregnancy. Sarah is not willing to choose that option. Sarah instead wants to give this life they created every possible chance to see this world.
Sarah is now not working and unfortunately her husband Ian had an accident a few weeks ago and cut a portion of his finger at his workplace. Thankfully, he returned to work on 6-19 after being off work for more than a month.
Both of these situations have been costly and stressful for the family. Cylas will come into the world with a brother and sister who just can’t wait to meet him. I am hoping to gather some funds to help the family with the extra costs of travel and medical costs which most will be covered by insurance but there is a deductible and rather large out of pocket to be met.
Sarah and Ian have also decided that any funds rec’d and not used for this will be donated to the hospital for medical team to use in future studies.
