The Cross Country Canine Caravan

Meade Canine Rescue is on the move! 8 humans, 37 dogs, 1 cat, 5 vehicles, and a whole lotta excitement, will be heading out across the country to move the rescue from Creston, CA to Wingdale, NY. We leave on July 4th and hope to arrive by July 9th. Details subject to change (except the end result!), but one way or another, Meade Canine Rescue is headed across the country. Follow along on the journey, and please support the rescue any way you can. There are several ways to sponsor and cheer us on:

$5 - $10 buy the volunteer drivers some coffee! It may be a fancy mocha-frappy-whipped- pink-iced monstrosity, or it may be several truck stop cups (it’s going to be the latter).

$25- sponsor the care and feeding of a pup for a day! We’ll give them an extra treat in your honor. You can sponsor as many dogs as you’d like…for as many days as you’d like. No, really!

$30- sponsor one day of the care and feeding of the lone cat on the trip. No extra charge if we get scratched; the extra $5 is for bandages.

$50- fill the gas tank of one of the transport vehicles (Once we leave California, the gas prices go down )

$100—fill the gas tank of the bus; it’s bigger, it’s better, it’s running a lot of A/C!

$150- Buy breakfast, lunch or dinner (maybe all 3) for the drivers (that’s the humans in the group, just to be clear); you can even suggest what we should have—just remember we’re with 35+ dogs and doing our own version of “Diners, Drive-ins, Dives, and Dogs!”

$200- sponsor one leg of the trip—pick a leg! Or an arm! Or a highway! We’re expecting about 13 stops over 5 days, and we’re crossing 10 states, so you can pick a state too. If you pick Texas, you’re really getting some bang for your buck.

$250—feed the dogs! They will mostly be sleeping (we hope!), but still, they’re going to need to eat.

$500-one night’s lodging for the humans. It won’t be fancy, but there are 8 drivers and we’re gonna need to shower.

$1500— sponsor every leg of the trip! We’ll give thanks and think of you every time we stop! We’ll remind the pups that you’re responsible for their journey (wait…they might not fully appreciate that in the moment. We’ll tell them later.)

$2500- Fireworks! (just kidding, dogs hate that). This is where you sponsor it all- every leg of the trip, every state we pass through, and every furry creature on board headed to a new life in a new home! (By the end of the trip, some of the humans will be pretty furry as well; so sure, sponsor us too.)

Honestly, just send a donation. There’s a lot going on, and Meade could use your help and encouragement, and yeah, some funds.
