THE NON- PROFIT CRISIS RESCUE FOUNDATION URGENTLY NEEDS YOUR HELP TO FUND THE WORK THAT WE ARE DOING TO HELP OVERSEAS MEDICS HIT BY WAR AND OTHER NATIONAL CRISES TO CONTINUE THEIR MEDICAL EDUCATION AND GET THE SUPPORT THEY NEED TO CARE FOR PATIENTS NOW AND IN THE FUTURE!
In April 2022 Dr Sharon Raymond, GP, established and is director of the Crisis Rescue Foundation Medical School U.K. Elective Programme
For over 2 years now, along with a team of around 250 dedicated Crisis Rescue Foundation lecturers
(mainly leading U.K. medical educators) and admin staff, she has been running this only one of its kind online, free and global Medical Education and Wellbeing Peer Support institution with the aim of supporting the needs of trainee and qualified doctors from countries worldwide adversely impacted by war and national crises. As medical education in these countries is paused Crisis Rescue Foundation steps in to act as a bridge until such time as medical education is resumed locally.
Medics receive regular online lectures on medical education, including on battlefield medicine, as well as wellbeing sessions. In addition, we support those medics who've been displaced to the U.K. and have so far run 4 in person training days for refugee doctors with the last one in November 2024 hosted by the General Medical Council in London. We have also supported over 60 clinical attachments for refugee doctors in the U.K. to help them in their journey to working in the U.K.
We have so far received over 22,000 overwhelmingly positive feedback responses from our students. We now have about 2000 students registered to the Crisis Rescue Foundation Medical School, and this number is growing daily.
We need to fund the growing costs of our medical school in order to meet the needs of our global student community - we urge you to support our efforts so that we can embark on the 7th term of lectures for our students, and continue to support them in their medical studies and medical work,
Thank you,
kind regards,
Dr Sharon Raymond
