Help UK Boxing Official Jeff Hinds - with his Legal Costs

I am Jeff Hinds from Reading in Berkshire and I have been a licensed Professional Boxing Referee & Judge for over 34 years.

During my career I have officiated 1615 bouts which is amongst the highest in the world of Professional Boxing.

I am blessed with a wife, four children as well as eight grandchildren.

I am employed by the NHS and has thus far have given 15 years’ service working in the Financial Accounting Department.

Aside from the career as a Professional Boxing Official, I have been a Community Activist for 45 years and have always encouraged Community Engagement and promoted a sense of belonging and continues to promote Social Inclusion.

I have been a practicing Carnival Artist for over forty years and a practicing Magistrate for 21 years.

The last 4 years have seen my qualification as a Professional Boxing Official withdrawn by the UK Boxing Authority after I complained of their discriminatory conduct towards me including them placing my name in public domain for no proper of fare reason causing much unnecessary speculation.

Over a period of two and a half decades the Boxing Authority has subjected me to a hostile environment. I toughed it out as long as I could before I had no real choice but to take Legal Action against the Governing Body to preserve my career which has been costly.

I am soliciting support from you the public who believe in a safe space for all in society from discrimination, bullying and harassment of any person with protected characteristics and those without. I have given many years to the sport and my plight has been mirrored in many other sports and in society in general but things can change if people stand up to such unfair behaviours perpetrated in sporting bodies who refuse to move with the times.

My desire is not only to achieve my own justice but to also pave the way for future participants and or officials in this or any other sport to achieve protection from the very same discriminatory treatment, mostly racial, I have had to endure for far too long.

It has taken more than four years to get the case listed for trial of which I have acted as a Litigant in Person thus far.
