The Road That Found Me
My name is Erin, and at 44 years old I feel like I’ve been given a second chance at life - which is something I wasn’t sure would ever be possible for me.
For 13 years I lived with chronic pancreatitis, a condition that brought intense pain, hospital visits, and long stretches of uncertainty about whether my body would ever allow me to feel normal again.
There were periods during those years when I truly didn’t know what the future held, or whether I would have one at all.
Chronic illness slowly dismantles the world you once knew. Over time, the pain and unpredictability stripped away many of the things that once defined who I thought I was, and long stretches were spent simply trying to get through the day.
Eventually, survival became my entire focus.
But somewhere along the way, something began to shift. Three years ago, my sister opened her home to me and gave me a place to rest, heal, and begin putting the pieces of myself back together.
After so many years of simply surviving, having a safe place to recover gave me the space to start imagining what the future might hold again.
The last few years have been about rebuilding from the inside out, slowly rediscovering who I was beneath everything illness had taken from me. And somewhere along that path, I began to feel something I had not felt in a very long time.
Hope.
But now that chapter is coming to a close. My sister is preparing to sell her home and move away, and while that transition brings uncertainty, it also feels like the moment where I am meant to step forward and create something new.
Sometimes the universe places something in front of you at exactly the moment you are ready to receive it ✨️
Recently, I reached out to my cousin about a bus she and her husband once owned. They had talked about converting it into a home for their family, and because I had been exploring an alternative living opportunity, I asked what she had ended up doing with it.
That was when she said something that shifted the entire conversation - If I didn't need space for a full family, she told me, a shuttle bus would actually be perfect.
A little while later, she sent me photos of a simple shuttle bus with the seats removed. Empty, spacious, and full of possibility.
Later that evening, I showed the pictures to my daughter, and as we started talking about what something like that could become, she looked at them for a moment and suddenly said,
“Mom… that would be perfect for a traveling tarot bus.”
In that moment, something inside me shifted.
For the first time in years, I could clearly see a future beginning to take shape again. A way to take the work I have been doing for decades - helping people find clarity, healing, and direction, and bring it directly out into the world.
After so many years of uncertainty, the idea of building something new on the open road felt both surreal and deeply right.
For more than 30 years, tarot has been part of my journey, but my work has never been limited to simply reading cards. Over the years, I have become a certified sound healing therapist, developed my own healing modalities, helped create an all-natural holistic candle company with my sister, and worked closely with people through transformational coaching and spiritual guidance that helps them reconnect with themselves and heal from the inside out.
Some of the most meaningful moments I have experienced happened while sitting across from another human being who simply needed someone to see them clearly, to listen, and to reflect truth back to them when they had forgotten who they were.
Again and again, I have witnessed powerful transformations when people reconnect with their own inner wisdom and strength.
At one point, I spent two years traveling across the country in my car, living minimally and meeting people along the way. During that time, I had some of the most honest and meaningful conversations I have ever experienced.
Strangers opened up about their struggles, their crossroads, and the healing they were searching for. Those moments reminded me how powerful it is when someone feels truly seen and heard.
That kind of connection has always been at the heart of what I do, which is exactly why this idea feels so aligned.
My vision is to convert a shuttle bus into a traveling sanctuary, a warm and welcoming space where I can both live and continue offering guidance, conversation, reflection, and healing experiences as I travel to fairs, festivals, flea markets, carnivals, and community gatherings.
I imagine a space filled with soft light, candles, music, and quiet conversation. A place where someone can step inside for a few minutes, breathe, and reconnect with themselves. A place where people can pause and find clarity during whatever chapter they are walking through.
This is the vision I’ve begun calling The Cosmic Caravan.
I also plan to document the entire journey - from finding the bus and transforming it into the Cosmic Caravan, to traveling and meeting people along the road.
My hope is that sharing this process will inspire others who are facing uncertain chapters to see that even difficult transitions can open the door to something meaningful.
What You’re Helping Create
With your support, I will be able to purchase and convert a shuttle bus into The Cosmic Caravan, a traveling sanctuary for connection, reflection, and healing.
This space will allow me to:
• Travel to fairs, festivals, flea markets, and community events
• Offer guidance, spiritual reflection, and meaningful conversations
• Create a quiet and welcoming place where people can pause and reconnect with themselves
• Share the journey of building the Cosmic Caravan and the connections made along the road
Inside the bus, I envision a peaceful environment with soft lighting, music, a reading table, and a space where meaningful conversations and healing moments can unfold wherever the road leads.
This project is not simply about creating a home for myself.
It is about building a mobile space for connection, reflection, and transformation.
This fundraiser will help cover the cost of purchasing a used shuttle bus, addressing any immediate mechanical needs, and beginning the process of converting it into a simple but welcoming living and healing space.
My immediate priority is creating a safe and stable foundation, including mechanical reliability, insulation, and winterization, so the Cosmic Caravan can be lived in year-round. The rest of the build will evolve over time.
I am not asking for help to remain stuck.
I am asking for help building something meaningful from a difficult season, something that allows me to continue serving others while honoring the second chance I truly feel I have been given.
Sometimes unexpected circumstances lead us in directions we never planned... And sometimes those moments open the door to an entirely new path.
If this story resonates with you and you believe in helping someone turn a difficult chapter into a new beginning, I would be deeply grateful for your support.
Whether through a donation, sharing this page, or simply offering encouragement, every bit of support helps bring this vision to life.
I have always believed that it takes a village.
Healing, transformation, and meaningful change rarely happen in isolation. They happen when people come together, support one another, and believe in what is possible.
If I can be someone who carries that spark out into the world and help create those moments of connection for others, then that is exactly what I want to do.
If this journey speaks to you, I would be honored to have you be part of the village helping bring the Cosmic Caravan to life.
