Mere words cannot adequately express the deep gratitude and appreciation we have for your generous gift for Dorothy and Jonathan. The Cortez-Dixon families sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your thoughtfulness, support and prayers mean so much to us in this time of grief and sorrow. Our families have suffered a tremendous heartbreaking loss. Dorothy and Jonathan Cortez lost their baby Maia Genee Cortez on 5/20/2023. Dorothy was 33 weeks pregnant. She had been diagnosed with preeclampsia. We had her baby shower on Saturday 5/20 and that evening she suffered a placental abruption. Dorothy was rushed to the hospital, but Baby Maia did not survive. Dorothy is still recovering and her blood pressure is still high, she is improving and was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday. Jonathan has been taking good care of Dorothy anticipating her every need but they will need their village to overcome this terrible loss.

Dorothy and Jonathan have chosen Live Oak Cemetery in Duarte, California where several family members on both sides of the family are buried. The estimated cost to bury our precious Maia is about $10,000. Dorothy and Jonathan will need our financial support with this burden. They are so loving, kind, and thoughtful and deserve our support.

Whatever you can contribute will be deeply appreciated. There are so many of their friends and family that love them and are grieving with this deeply tragic loss. Thank you in advance for your condolences, prayers and contributions. Your thoughtfulness means so very much to Dorothy, Jonathan and the Cortez and Dixon families at this very difficult time.
