Dear family, friends, and members of the community,
I am writing you today to inform you about the tragic and unexpected loss of 42 year old Christopher R. Cooper.

On 4/22/23 Christopher was traveling eastbound on Hwy 2 in Spokane, WA when for unknown reasons his motorcycle went off the roadway striking the cable barrier median. Christopher was ejected from his motorcycle and landed on the west bound side of the highway. No other vehicles were involved and he was wearing a DOL compliant helmet.
Upon arrival to Sacred Heart Medical Center, his heart was stabilized but needed 100% breathing assistance. Christopher remained unconscious and on life support. Christopher’s family arrived at the hospital including his wife, parents, and siblings who were all briefed by hospital staff of Christopher’s current condition.
Without going into unnecessary detail, Christopher’s entire body was broken in every way imaginable. Due to the traumatic force of the accident, Christopher had experienced a fatal brain injury. The ICU Neurosurgeon team had declared Christopher’s brain deceased.
It was at this time that Christopher’s children were brought to the hospital by additional family members. His oldest daughter (age 24), his oldest son (age 20), his youngest son (age 15), and his youngest daughter (age 8). Along side their family members, each of his children had to say goodby to their father. Christopher’s wife and family were forced to make the most difficult decision of discontinuing life support.
Christopher was a first born son, a big and little brother, a loving husband, a devoted father of 4, a fun uncle, a cherished grandson, a funny cousin and nephew… the impact of his loss for our family is immeasurable .

If you had the opportunity of knowing Christopher then you know that he was always on the hunt for the next exciting adventure. He had a rambunctious soul with a need for speed. From the time Chris was a young boy he constantly had to be in the middle of the action in some shape or form. From catching fastballs in baseball, to jumping his dirt bike out on the farm, to burning around that last barrel on his horse at the rodeo, Chris was always chasing after the next adrenaline rush. In Christopher’s adulthood he traded horses in for horse power and acquired a love for jet boats and fast cars.

Although his decision making could sometimes be seen as fast or reckless, Chris lived his life to the absolute fullest. If he saw something that he wanted he would just go for it, full speed ahead without hesitation or fear. It is because of this wild nature that allowed him to experience and accomplish so many amazing things throughout his life.
Christopher was the kind of person who would always be there anytime someone needed help. With his mechanical ability and extensive knowledge, he could fix darn near anything and would always offer his help to anyone having troubles regardless if he knew them or not. Throughout his years of operating his own repair shop, Chris had an abundance of people in the community that respected his work and called him a friend.

Of all the accomplishments and hurtles that Chris had overcome throughout his years, what he took the upmost pride in over any other were his 4 children and his beautiful wife. As a devoted father who wanted to provide the world for his family, Chris would work his fingers to the bone to ensure that they had everything they needed and then some. He loved taking his family out for fun bowling nights, fishing, camping, and boating on the lake. He would talk on and on about his kids to anyone who would listen and would brag to total strangers about how beautiful and lovely his wife is. Christopher was such a proud father and a devoted husband whose presence will be missed every single day.

My name is Meghan, I am Chris’s baby sister and I am managing this campaign to raise money to help with all costs associated with my big brothers sudden passing.
Today I am asking for the community’s help to assist in taking some of the financial burden off the shoulders of his grieving wife and family. Chris was the sole provider for his household which leaves them in a very difficult financial state. As we all know, funeral expenses can be quite costly.
All donations received in this fundraiser will be used for the following purposes;
-Funeral and memorial services for Christopher (which must be paid for soon, so this is urgent) We,ve received multiple quotes and will be looking at the 10k range for his burial and services.
-Any medical bills that may be accumulated from Chris’s time in the ICU at Sacred Heart Medical Center. These will take time to come in therefor we have no estimate at this time
-Moving costs; Christopher’s wife will be tasked with the difficult job of closing down his repair shop, moving out of their current home, and relocating back to her hometown where she has a large support system of family for her and Chris’s children.
Please know that all donations of any size are appreciated immensely. Every little bit adds up and is helpful.❤️
