The Sutra that Brings Together the Contemplations of All the Buddhas is an important Mahayana Sutra. It is also the Root Tantra of the Anuyoga. It is a scripture of the highest importance, addressing among other things the rise and fall of Rudra, a demonic being who threw the world into fear. It was translated into Tibetan during the early days of Buddhism’s influence there, and has been preserved not only in canonical and extra-canonical textual traditions but in the folklore and arts of the Tibetan people for over a thousand years. Dr. Jacob Dalton has written an entire book devoted to the importance of this Sutra (The Gathering of Intentions: A History of a Tibetan Tantra; Columbia University Press 2016). Dr. Dalton is among the many who have encouraged me to translate this scripture, for up to now the Sutra remains untranslated. It is not only a Buddhist teaching; it is a world-class work of literature, with 75 Chapters and 617 Tibetan pages. I plan to release it as a trilogy, with three volumes of about 500 pages each.

This is a major work of the highest importance. I expect that I will spend most of 2021 on it. I have used a benchmark of fifty dollars a page to set my goal for $32,000. I am confident that this goal is within reach, as many people are now aware of the beauty and importance of these early Tantras, and the world is very ready for the wisdom that this book carries.
