The Community Catholic Church of Canada

Donation protected

My name is Deborah Vaughan and I am the Presiding Archbishop of the Community Catholic Church of Canada. We are a small, validly ordered, independent church in the Anglican/Roman Catholic tradition.

Our church is part of the larger Old Catholic network of communities. Our little branch of the tree was established in 1960 in Hamilton Ontario.

We are proud to be an inclusive, welcoming, and progressive community that offers pastoral services across Ontario. We are a church without walls - and much our work consists of weddings, funerals, and volunteer work. None of our clergy or chaplains are paid by the church. Many have jobs and some are retired, earning extra income mostly from weddings that we do.

It's All About Love
Over the years, the CCCC has been offering onsite worship, and, since the pandemic, online church services, as well as podcasts, memes, and other ways to inspire and assist people in their daily lives. While we are Christian, our message is for all people - a message of love and acceptance, and a recognition that we are all sisters and brothers on this planet.

We think that message is one that is more important than ever to hear.

The world has become increasingly unloving, increasingly greedy, increasingly divided by class and philosophy and finances and differences.

We believe that the message of Christ -
that we seek to deepen our love and relationship with God,
that we love each each other as ourselves,
that we serve God best by serving each other with compassion,
that we please God by forgiving ourselves and each other generously
- is more needed than every before.

We feel called to promote this message, to serve all God's people, to do what we can to be the hands and feet and voice of Jesus in a world that desperately needs to hear his message of love.

Reaching Out, Making a Difference
The clergy and chaplains of our little church volunteer in so many ways!

Some are listening friends to those who struggle. Some are visitors in hospitals and nursing homes. Some work in Habitat for Humanity. Some assist those in palliative care or grieving lost loved ones. Some advocate for indigenous groups, LGBTQIA+ groups, the beautiful creatures of this planet, the planet itself... every day we try to share kindness in little ways. Especially, we pray – for each other, for those who request prayer, for those in need, for you, for peace.

We have created this fundraiser to assist in our efforts to reach out to all people with our message of empowerment, encouragement, and love. We are working on new podcasts and web materials. We wish to expand our outreach efforts. Currently we support local food banks. women's shelters, United Way projects, street people services, and migrant workers. We would like to expand assistance for the homeless and the hungry, especially our seasonal projects to assist them.
