In February 2026, I will be completing a skydive in Queenstown, New Zealand in support of Orthopaedic Research UK.

In early 2025, I was diagnosed with an extremely rare condition called Synovial Chondromatosis, involving a large number of benign tumours in my hip and severe damage to my hip.

The diagnosis came as a huge shock to both me and my family. Due to the rarity of the condition, there was very limited information available, and clear treatment pathways were difficult to find. This meant attending numerous appointments with different healthcare professionals in an effort to better understand my condition and explore possible treatment options (a big shoutout to my mum & family, friends, & boyfriend for being my rocks through this difficult time).

After speaking to limited surgeons in this field I was very fortunate to find an amazing surgeon who performed surgery in August to remove the majority of the tumours but this is a temporary solution and I will be facing further surgery.

This charity is dedicated to improving bone, joint and muscle (musculoskeletal) health through vital research, raising awareness of MSK conditions, and encouraging collaboration within the medical community. MSK conditions can cause significant disruption to daily life, including chronic pain and reduced mobility, which is why continued research is so important to improving and changing lives.

ORUK holds a very special place in my heart and funds will go towards uncovering causes, developing better treatments, and raising awareness of rare conditions like mine — ultimately helping to make everyday life easier for so many people.

Therefore, I am taking part in a skydive—something I couldn’t even imagine doing five months ago—to represent my personal journey and to raise money for an amazing charity.  Yes my surgeon has given me the go-ahead!!
Please donate if you can, or follow along on my journey. Thank you for your support!
