The Colon family welcomes twins February 2023

Update: Our NICU stay has been longer than expected. Isabella was discharged after 20 days and Sofia remains in their care. It has been extremely tough parenting between two different places and dividing our time between all the kids. Just managing every day has been difficult.

We know the end is in sight and at some point (hopefully soon) Sofia will be home, but that day seems so far away, as we have had our hopes crushed twice at the possibility of her coming home.

As some of you know, this pregnancy has been far from easy and has come with many challenges and many appointments. Because of this, we will be delivering prematurely at the beginning of February and the twins will most likely be spending 1-2 weeks in the NICU, something that will be very new & challenging for us.

We have been blessed to have gotten so many different things for them, including things we happen to still have from Skylar. The main thing we are in need of is a travel system. After lots of research, we finally found something we believe will be the best fit for our growing family.

We will not be doing a baby shower so our request is two fold. We will be purchasing a travel system first and any extra funds will be extremely helpful for Kate to be able to stay home a little longer to care for the twins. With only 5 weeks of paid maternity leave, and part of that time being spent in the NICU, the extra funds will be greatly appreciated.
