The Colbee Cammarata-Hodgman Memorial Scholarship
Donation protected
Colbee "Cole" Cammarata-Hodgman had recently graduated high school in June 2022, and was beginning an exciting new chapter into adulthood when he tragically died in an accident while hiking at one of his favorite spots last October. To honor Cole's memory, his family has established a scholarship to be awarded to one (or more, if possible!) graduating senior at his alma mater, Nashua High School South. Led by Cole's mother, along with his grandmother and uncle, this award aims to help students who share some of his amazing qualities and/or experiences.
Cole had a vibrant spirit that was easy to love; he was witty and charming, and most importantly, had a genuine empathy and love for people. Academically, Cole may have struggled at times due to external issues, but grades do not demonstrate true intelligence. He had been planning his post-graduate goals, focused on getting started at the community college level with the newfound confidence of getting his diploma despite the challenges.
Cole's biggest gift to the world in his short 18 years was his quiet leadership and absolute devotion to his loved ones. Even when struggling, he was the first person to help someone else or be an enthusiastic cheerleader. For the scholarship, Cole's family will be choosing from seniors who have submitted an essay sharing the ways in which their story echoes his; it will be a person with plans to attend a 2-year school, trade school, or certificate program, and who has overcome a great adversity and perservered.
Any contributions towards reaching our goal, in addition to current family funds, will help keep our Colbee's memory alive, and encourage the success of the unsung heroes and non-typical students! A special savings account has been set up for this scholarship exclusively, and all funds will be used to support award recipients. Any funds in excess of our original goal will be allocated to an additional scholarship and/or kept in savings for next year. Thank you so much if you read this far!
