Scott Colan was a creative and imaginative artist who seemed to come from a different world. However, he was born in Portsmouth, Va., on July 26, 1966, and spent his early life in Virginia before moving to Jersey. As a navy brat, Scott displayed his enterprising nature even as a child by selling crabs caught with the chicken he threw into the bay. He cherished his family and remained close to them throughout his life, especially bonding over their shared love for the Philadelphia Eagles. Scott experienced the heartbreak of attending the last game at Veterans Stadium in 2003 but found redemption when the Eagles won the Super Bowl fifteen years later.
Scott's greatest joy came from falling in love with his wife, Kristin, and raising their two sons, Charlie and Marshall, who inherited his creativity. He possessed an insatiable curiosity and turned his dreams into action, inventing musical instruments and engaging in filmmaking and motion graphics work. Scott's passion for music was evident through his involvement in various bands, including Mistress, Lenola, Prodigal Sun, and Love Sandwich. He fearlessly expressed his opinions and loved engaging in debates. Despite his sarcastic humor, he was incredibly generous and would do anything for his family and friends.
Scott Colan's impact on the music community was not limited to his own bands. He was also a co-creator in the vibrant music scene of Rock Hill Rd, leaving a lasting influence on the local musicians and artists. His unique spirit and countless memories will forever keep his vibrant presence alive in our hearts.
