We are asking for your support to build a new dripping facility to handle an extra 3,000 kg of red, ripe coffee cherries a day while maintaining our quality. Your help means more farmers will have higher incomes, we will create more jobs for the local community and - of course - we will produce more amazing coffee for you.
We founded The Coffee Gardens in 2017 with the goal of producing specialty coffee in an ethical way, offering a transparent and direct link between coffee farmers and you, the consumer.
Over the past four years, we’ve provided jobs for over 150 people and become a reliable and trusted partner for over 400 smallholder farmers in a remote area deep in the foothills of Mt Elgon, Eastern Uganda.
We were delighted to hear that our recent shipment sold out so quickly and that many coffee shops and roasters wanted more! We’ve been increasing our volumes carefully as we can’t afford to compromise on quality and sustainability. Now, we’re asking for your support.
The upcoming harvest is set to be a big one, and more farmers have registered with us than ever before and are attending our training on better farming practices. This is because we pay higher prices and are fully transparent. We’re expecting a lot of coffee!
Our coffee is exceptionally clean because, immediately after fermentation, we meticulously sort through the beans while they are still translucent to remove all defects. Then we let the coffee delicately “drip dry” under shade before it can move to our solar dryers.
