Hello! My name is Chanda and I am raising funds to support Mothers of Premature Babies with Front-Opening Patient Gowns.

When a baby is born prematurely, every moment of closeness matters. Skin-to-skin contact (often called kangaroo care) is proven to help stabilise a baby’s breathing, heart rate, and temperature, while also strengthening the bond between mother and child.

But many hospitals lack front-opening patient gowns that allow mothers to hold their fragile newborns safely and comfortably during this critical time. Without these gowns, mothers struggle to provide the nurturing contact their babies desperately need.

I am working directly with Dr Julien Chomba and Dr Salome Chitondo at Arthur Davison Children's Hospital, Dr Sompwe Lupesha Mwansa at Mary Begg Hospital in Ndola, Zambia.

By raising funds, we can supply mothers with gowns that open easily at the front, making skin-to-skin contact possible without compromising dignity or safety.

By February 28th 2026, I hope to have raised all the money to provide 50 front‑opening gowns to be delivered in April 2026 so more mothers can hold their babies close during kangaroo care. Every gift through my GoFundMe page helps make that precious skin‑to‑skin moment possible.
