The climb to Haevens

I don't know where to start because I never thought I would be doing this, as most people know we lost our amazing Sam to the most evil disease and we are beyond broken - if I'm honest broken doesn't even come close.

I have never met anyone as strong and brave as our Sam and he fought like the true warrior he was. Back in 2017 Sam was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer and was told he would only have 14 months left to live. Sam went through intense surgery and the tumour was removed however the doctors didn't think this would be enough as the cancer was so aggressive. He then underwent tonnes of chemotherapy and radiotherapy and powered on for for nearly 5 whole years. In this time Sam lived the dream as he would say, he never complained once and even though he was going through hell, he never showed one sight of weakness. He was everyone's favourite person, the life of the party, we all loved him so much. He got married to his beautiful wife Chelsea and gave us the most amazing thing he possibly could - his son Joshua.

Unfortunately when Joshua was a couple of months old, we got the dreaded news we all knew would come back to hit us in the face, Sam's tumour had come back, this time much worse. Again Sam carried on and cared about everyone else more than his own self and that was just the person he was - a true gentleman.
Time went on and our Sammy got worse, his eyes still smiled to comfort our broken hearts and it all just felt like a horrible dream that we would wake up from, but we didn't and the true reality of what was happening was really about to hit us in the face.

The 30th of January 2022 the worst day of our lives, we said goodbye to Sam. I never got the chance to tell Sam about all of this but I know he will be watching and climbing with us side by side on the challenge we are about to face. Sam played a massive part in Megan and Stefans lives, the bond and friendship we had was second to none and we want to make Sam proud and give back to the people that supported Sam from day one, as I know he was beyond grateful for everything they did for him.
Megan and Stefan have decided to take on the 3 peake challenge, this to many might not seem a lot but to us it's something special. We will be driving to Scotland and climbing the mountain Ben Nevis, then heading to the Lake District to climb Scafel Pike and then finally making our way to Wales to climb mount Snowden all in 3 days. We want to raise as much money as we possibly can to give back to the most amazing charity that supported Sam and the family throughout and that's Rainbows hospice for children and young people. Sam's case worker was incredible and these people do not get enough credit for the work and care they give to many others who are suffering or have suffered like Sam did with his illness.

Megan and Stefan will start the challenge on the 25th of May and we would really appreciate if you could help donate to an amazing cause. Lots of photos and videos will be taken to remember these rewarding but tough few days and show everyone the journey we will have taken to get to the top of all three mountains.

Sam we are doing this for you as I know you would have wanted to give back as much as you could and you were so grateful for everything everyone did to support you. I know you would of joined us if you was here however there will always be apart of you by our sides helping us on our way up. You are now our other eyes that can see above the clouds so Megan and Stefan will be heading up there to see what it's all about, then you can show them why you had to leave so soon.

This is for you brother, we will see you at the top.
