On the 13th June 2026, Anthony, Megan's dad, and Claire, Megan's sister, will be doing "The Climb" alongside our group of wonderful volunteers and supporters, all in honour of Megan and and in support of The Megan Newborough Foundation.
The Climb is a sponsored walk up and down Mount Snowdon to raise funds and awareness of the Foundation, and the charitable organisations we support.
Their commitment, strength, and determination reflect exactly what the Foundation stands for - creating positive change, supporting others, and building something meaningful out of heartbreak.
In 2021 our daughter Megan was brutally taken from us. She was a beautiful person inside and out, and was much loved by everyone who knew her. She believed in helping people, and in encouraging them to be the best that they could be.
Megan was murdered in the perpetrator’s home — a detail that meant his prison sentence started at just 15 years instead of 25. That single technicality reduced the value placed on her life, and it’s a devastating injustice no family should ever have to face.
Alongside Killed Women, we’ve been fighting to change this law so that victims and their families are no longer punished by the very system meant to protect them. Too many legal outcomes have favoured perpetrators, minimised their actions, and left families like ours carrying the weight of decisions that feel unbearably unfair.
We continue this fight because Megan deserved better. Every woman deserves better. And no family should ever have to battle for justice while grieving the unimaginable.
Every donation, big or small helps to keep Megan's legacy alive in supporting Killed Women and other charitable organisations dedicated to ending violence against women.
Thank you for standing with us and for supporting Anthony and our volunteers as they take on this amazing and difficult challenge.
