My climb for Type 1 Diabetes

This year marks a major milestone for me — I’m turning 50!

To celebrate, instead of receiving gifts, I’m asking for something truly meaningful.

I’m setting out to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro — Africa’s highest peak and the tallest free-standing mountain in the world at 5,895 meters — to raise funds for a cause that’s deeply personal. My goal is to support vital research into a cure for Type 1 Diabetes, a condition that affects my son, my husband, and 8.4 million others around the world.

While we’re grateful for the incredible advancements in diabetes care, far less is being invested into finding a cure. That’s why I’m taking on this challenge — not just for myself, but for everyone living with Type 1 Diabetes.

Climbing Kilimanjaro is a daunting task, but your support will inspire and fuel me every step of the way. Every donation will go directly to Stichting DON, an organization dedicated to funding research for a cure.
