In December of 2019, Brian Clenney was diagnosed with throat cancer. After a courageous battle with his wife Kat by his side Brian was in remission in the first half of 2020, soon after the pandemic hit. In November of 2020 his wife became ill. She was diagnosed with Leukemia and began chemo treatment immediately. A month ago Kat caught coronavirus as did Brian. After being on a ventilator for 2 weeks Kat is currently fighting for her life.
As if all of that was not already enough, sewage backed up into their basement while Kat was in the hospital during her initial hospital stay when she was diagnosed with leukemia. The basement of their house had to be remediated at the same time. As Brian is recovering from Coronavirus post Cancer, he remains stressed with health and financial issues and fears about his wife's condition.
Brian Clenney is one of the smartest, hardworking and kindest people on this earth. He is a longtime employee of Louisville Metro IT department and works day in and out to keep our city safe and running smoothly. His loving wife Kat works for the Humane Society, saving the lives of animals with love and dedication to those furry friends less fortunate. Both work tirelessly to help others in our city of Louisville, Kentucky.
They have a long road ahead of them preparing their house for Kat’s return. She will have to continue chemo to fight cancer after corona . She will need to live in a different floor of the house due to steps and “long haul” complications from Covid. Neither would ever ask for help, but I am. I have created this fundraiser to to help ease the financial burdens on them. As we enter 2021, we can show them we care as a community and to not give up. No one family deserves to be dealt 2 brutal types of cancer and Coronavirus in one year.
If you can spare anything to help reach this goal all funds will go to pay medical bills and pay off the home loan taken to finish the basement where she will recover with Brian by her side. Let’s help them get passed this terrible time in their lives and move forward toward a better future. I want to show them we in Louisville and America are a loving community who care. Please share.
