Many years go I began writing and creating a dream, a story, a musical vision that took hold of my heart, and sent me on the ride of a lifetime beyond my wildest dreams.
"The Circle of Eyes" is a whimsical, heart-wrenching Sci-Fi fantasy fairytale about a robot with a soul. Willow's soul was reincarnated from the past life of a little blind girl who dreamed of being a pianist. This musical is a timeless creation for families, and adults of all ages who have ever longed for a deep human connection, and a dream to believe in. This musical explores nature verses AI, spirituality, and the importance of art created from real human emotion, rather than solely from a machine.
The book echoes hints of The Phantom of The Opera, Edward Scissorhands, The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, Coraline, Wicked, WALL-E, and Black Mirror.
"The Circle of Eyes" first premiered Off-Broadway in NY in 2020 right before Covid, and won 5 awards including Best New Musical. The script also recently placed in the top 3 for the International Theater Competition out of hundreds of submissions. It also received a Finalist award with Screencraft for the potential to become an animated film. Since the NY production, and Covid, I have faced many life-challenges, as so many have, while trying to raise the funds to produce this beautiful musical in Los Angeles, so that I can finally share it with my friends and loved ones in the city I still call home.
Over the last 3 years, I have teamed up with the musical genius, Charlotte Martin (composer of hit songs heard on "So You Think You Can Dance") to create new music for "The Circle of Eyes." The new songs have far surpassed my expectations, and encompass the kind of healing powers that I believe the greatest songs have the power to hold. I cannot wait to share them with you for the LA production.
We have something truly special here. Directing this musical again, this time in LA, sharing it with you all, and watching it grow into what I know it can be, has been my life's biggest dream.
All Willow ever wanted was to feel a true human connection, to find a home, to share the music that lived inside her soul, and to leave behind something to help others feel Love.
That is all I want as well.
