Galatians 6:2; 10
2 "Share each other's burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ"...
10 ..."Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone-especially to those in the family of faith."
Please help support the Chris Williams Family in this time of need. We thought this would be an easy way for friends, family, and the community to help out Chris' family. The family has no idea where to begin with their gratitude for all the love, support - and most importantly, prayers being sent for Chris and the family around the clock, since he was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on December 26, 2018. The accident left Chris with a severe brain injury called Diffuse Axonal Brain Injury. This type of brain injury causes the receptors in the brain to come apart or shearing. Chris is completely bed bound and needs complete and total nursing care. He is on a trach and feeding tube which requires a skilled nurse to care for his every need. He just began to receive physical and occupational therapy, and it has made a great difference. As of February 2nd, Chris is learning something new everyday. Chris can scratch his nose and other parts of his body; he has brushed his teeth for 45 seconds; tries to sit and stand up in a chair; recognizes some voices; and is showing cognitive skills by following simple commands. Your faithful prayers are being answered as the family sees God's Healing Hand on Chris daily.
When Chris was well enough to leave the hospital on January 31, 2019, the family evaluated their options for placement. Since sending Chris to a nursing home was not an option for them, his mom Aimee bravely learned how to care for Chris' trach and feeding tube. As well as, all of Chris' other needs being a severe brain injured patient. The family has exhausted every resource that Medicaid would cover. Medicaid only covers CNA assistance not specialized RN care. As a result, all of Chris' care is private out-of-pocket for now. The family will have to modify their home and car in order to be able to transport Chris once he is not bed-bound anymore. All love gifts raised will go directly toward Skilled Nurse care. This will allow Chris' mom Aimee to return back to work at the Post Office, as her FMLA is coming to an end.
We are truly speaking from the bottom of our hearts when we say the best thing anyone can do for Chris' family right now is to pray for Chris' total recovery, and pray for the hire and means of a Skilled Nurse to help to oversee his care.
Dear Heavenly Father, Great Physician, You are perfect in all of Your ways. We come before You with open hearts as we lay our praises and petitions at Your feet. We cannot imagine the angst Chris' family lives with everyday as they face the realization as parents of what has happened to their son Chris. We thank You in advance for all You will be doing for Chris. Thank You for all the progress You allowed Chris to make thus far. Thank You for all those you put in Chris' path to help advance his wellness. Thank You for the faithfulness of his family and friends who have prayed for his recover. Father God, we pray it is Your will to heal Chris from the top of this head to the tips of his toes. We pray by Your stripes Chris will be healed and we profess this with all our faithfulness in You. We pray You continue to give hope and fortitude to all those who are caring for Chris' needs. We pray for a professional skilled nurse and the means to pay for their services. We pray for an easy transition for Aimee to return to work. We pray Your Holy Spirit is felt moment to moment as Chris' parents deal with all his needs daily.
We will always give You all the praise for what You do as we sit back and watch You work. In Your Sweet Name Jesus we pray, Amen.
