The children at Cherish daycare in Tanzania

Hello from Arusha, Tanzania!

I am here volunteering at Cherish Daycare (a preschool with roughly 25 children aged 0-6) for 3 months to help support these precious children

The children at the preschool come from families that cannot afford to pay for the children's schooling/education so the school is financed for the most part by the director who runs the school and who believes that education is an important tool for the children's future. It is enough for premises, food and salaries but not much more.

I therefore want to use these donations to buy materials for the school to facilitate the students' learning. For example, paper, pencils and other vital things they need in order to keep their brains stimulated.

These children come from extremely poor backgrounds. I had the opportunity to visit some of these children's homes and families. I talked to the children's guardians and learned a lot about their life situation, this is something that had a massive impact on me and made me want to start this fundraiser so I’m able to help and support them in every way I can.

The families I visited live in rooms that are about 3-5 square meters in size with often up to 5 people living there. They need food, clothes, blankets, toys for the children and help paying their rent.
