We are Keaton Christensen and Jacob Case. We have been best friends from a very young age and our life-long shared passion for cars has grown with our friendship over these 20+ years. We always dreamed of designing and building our own cars that would appeal not only to the everyday driver, but also to car enthusiasts who are passionate about the art of building cars and the future of personal transportation. Throughout our years growing up, we learned from experienced people in the field, from our formal education, and from our hands on experience. Jacob recently graduated as an Electrical Engineer from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and Keaton, currently studying Mechanical Engineering at Washington University, will graduate soon.
We have been fortunate enough to be given this opportunity to make our dream come true by receiving incubation for this project from Keaton’s parents, who are giving us several months of free rent to seed our startup.
We have fully restored the space from a historic automotive manufacturer’s workshop to a modern automotive workshop in the Historic Automotive Row District of Midtown St. Louis. We’re excited about linking the automotive past of this historic district with the promising future of new technology in automotive transportation, including the cleaner and more efficient advancements in modern engineering.
Our plan is to build a space that enables individual car enthusiasts who share our passion for building well designed, more beautiful, unique and safer custom cars. Our space will be designed to create a place that encourages fellowship, sharing ideas and project cooperatives, along with public space designed to include the community, to expose them to our work. We will also produce a series of YouTube “How To” videos to encourage other car builders both young and old to share techniques and ideas, as well as some YouTube series for general gearheads to follow.
We have put in hours upon hours of hard work to get to this point. The current global pandemic has not slowed down our enthusiasm or drive; in fact, we’ve taken advantage of the “down time” to put in the hours of renovation, but the pandemic HAS slowed down the flow of work and subsequent funds to continue our progression on rehabilitating the building and creating it into a hub for the automotive community in the Midwest.
We plan to include a full cafe and bar in what was (and soon will be again) the showroom of the original building. We are asking you to help us continue our hard work in creating a one-of-a-kind place in the Midwest, one that anyone from car enthusiasts to artists to the curious can enjoy. We need $15,000 to help us open our doors. We want to provide a space that anyone can enter, relax and be inspired by our work. We want to introduce the community to the art of designing, engineering, and building unique and beautiful cars for everyone to enjoy.
With the funds that you provide us, we will be able to purchase the materials necessary to finish the build-in of the property and supply our community with an enjoyable and healthy new space that is open to anyone and everyone to visit.
For a $250 (or more) donation, we would like to immortalize your support of our dream by including your name on a wall plaque we will place in the cafe for every visitor to see. You will also be given an official “The Cherry Garage” t-shirt. And if you’re ever able to visit us, you will receive the “royalty of loyalty” tour of our business!
Of course, you don’t have to dig that deep into your pockets if you don’t want to, or can’t. A $100 donation will also be greatly appreciated and awarded with a t-shirt from The Cherry Garage.
A $25 (and up) donation will get you a “thank you” mention in the credits of one of our YouTube videos. We might even SAY your name in a video, so be sure to watch!

If you donate $1,000 or more, you will get everything mentioned above PLUS a free 30 second video commercial, promo or tribute for you or any (legal) business (or charity) you want to promote as an official sponsor of one of our YouTube videos.
