This campaign was created to help pay for the funeral of the Chen family. It will be mainly contributed to covering costs for the funeral and gravestones of the family members that recently passed on January 27th. The money will then be transferred to Sara Chen and her god family.
Everyone knew James as a kind, loving, and talented person. He loved designing planes, and he loved building helicopters. Wherever he went, he put smiles on people's faces. The death of James has had a tremendous effect on our community, and we are still shocked by this fact. We would like to dedicate this campaign to James. He would always lend a helping hand to others despite having problems of his own. He was a great person, and most importantly, an amazing friend, brother, and son.
James Chen was a very good friend of mine; we have known each other for 5 years already. I remember when I was the new kid at school in the 6th grade, I did not know many people nor have many friends. James, being the person that he is, came up to me and started a conversation. He introduced me to so many of his friends, and quickly I began to ease into the new school. Over the next couple years, we would grow together, we would take classes together, and improve together. In the past 5 years, we have done so many things together, from skipping 25 minute runs to singing in group projects together. The story of his life was a short one, passing away at the tender age of 16. James had so many ambitions and dreams in life that he was never able to fulfill. He told me just a week before that he wanted to be an engineer. His friends and I want to help preserve his legacy by funding the funeral for him and the rest of the family.
A message from their God Siblings: For as long as I’ve ever known, they have been there for us. As children, we spent hours together playing pretend. As much as I wish we could return to that world of pretense, we must face reality. But that doesn’t change how much we love our brother and his family. We promise to be the best possible family to Sara and never forget that smile that could light up a room. We love you.
Ever since James was born I considered him to be my little brother. Even though he was younger than me I always looked up to him. James was such a brilliant young man who was extremely intelligent, kind, outgoing, and last but not least genuine. Every single time I saw him he would have a big smile on his face, there was never a dull moment with him. Growing up with you has shaped me to be the person I am today and I will never be able to thank you enough. Since the day James was born I knew he was destined for greatness and was going to change the world. James I will always until the day I die consider you my true brother, and I will always love you. Rest in peace, hope to see you soon.
For Sara Chen (sister of James Chen, daughter of Shirley Zhou and Hong Chen), who is still a freshman in college: as James is our beloved friend, we too mourn with Sara, along with her extended family, and the others who had the pleasure of having James create a positive impact for those who met him.
