In April of 2025, after months of tests and uncertainty, Marissa received a life-changing diagnosis of Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Marissa has been an active community member, beloved teacher and mentor, and loyal friend who can often be found serving others. A cancer diagnosis was unexpected, but the prognosis is good. Treatment for Hodgkin's requires suppression of her immune system, which means Marissa can't safely do the thing she loves the most—teach—without risking her health until early next year.

She's about halfway through treatment and things are looking good! But any health crisis comes with some unexpected bumps and without the ability to work, it's hard to financially prepare for the future.

Donations will go toward covering medical bills everyday needs so Marissa can focus on recovery and getting back to normal.
